At their October meeting Crondall Parish Councillors were asked by Councillor Behagg “To further consider the current proposal and possible alternative details for the development of the cremation area with a view to finalising and submitting a relevant planning application” However, the plan, already approved by the majority of the Parish Council, took an unexpected U turn when Councillor Norman Lambert proposed that the design questions considered be opened up to the public, requesting their input and then the proposals be debated by the  Council at a future date. This motion was then approved. The proposals had already caused the public to submit comments like the stones would give a beach effect, appearance of a regimented military area and not a country churchyard, ‘hood winked’ into a plan that is narrow and single minded. At the meeting two residents had formally requested to address the Council, commenting on the lack of response to emails, the public meeting held by Councillor Behagg in June did not give alternatives apart from those which seem to be a fait au complis, some people could not afford the £600 suggested for a tablet. In his Design and Access Statement described the existing cremation area as overgrown and difficult to manage, some residents have described it as like railway sleepers and a market stall with pots of flowers for sale. Little respect and dignity seem apparent for individuals. An Unexpected  U Turn Crondall News 2011                           keeping people informed
